Understanding Client-Side AES-GCM 256-Bit Cryptography
AES-GCM (Galois/Counter Mode) with 256-bit key length is recognized globally as an unbreakable cipher. Unlike server-based encryptors where your secret password is sent over the network, NexTools uses the browser's native Web Cryptography API (window.crypto.subtle). Your secrets never touch our web server or third-party databases.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Without the exact passphrase, a 256-bit key has \(2^{256}\) possible combinations. Even utilizing all global supercomputers combined, brute-forcing a strong AES-256 key would take billions of years.
Every encryption generates a cryptographically random Salt (16 bytes) and Initialization Vector (IV) (12 bytes for GCM). This prevents rainbow table attacks and pattern detection across identical messages. The salt and IV are securely prepended to the ciphertext so the decryptor can extract them.
